Where would you say your brand was, before working with HIYO? What brought you to us?
Before starting to work with HIYO, we had built a very successful e-commerce company, but not a “brand” in any way shape or form. Two years after launching the business, not having an established brand really started catching up to us. From the most basic stuff like fonts & colors, to the overarching desire to have something that truly aligned with how we wanted to position ourselves. Even just on the very practical side, not having a brand was making us dread working with designers, since it was always just a really disjointed process & stressful experience. That’s why we decided to reach out. We were finally ready to take some time to think about how we want to position the brand long-term, and hopefully have the business succeed further because of it. We wanted to build a strong brand that was thoughtful & also obviously just make or lives easier by having a way to make assets consistent and more streamlined.

How was this compared you your experience with other designers & design teams?
I’ve been very impressed with the thoughtfulness of the presentations and the organization of your process. I was very hesitant of hiring a branding team because I thought it would be such a subjective thing to come up with a brand, but the way you’ve organized your process & steps, even the things you asked us to put together, made it all feel less subjective – in a good way! I really appreciate how there was a lot of thought put into each step, and the choices that were made weren’t random or arbitrary.

Did the process surprise you in any specific way?
In the strategy call, we really enjoyed how it all came together. How the words we mentioned, later became part of our mission statement. I loved how we were all getting excited about the project, saying “yeah, this is us!” And just having that space to talk about it as a team, even if they were things that we kind of knew already, it was just nice to get it down on paper. It makes it easier now when we’re talking to partners or investors, knowing everyone is on the same page and happy with where we’ve landed with our vision & brand.

Would you say we “solved your problem”?
Yes 100% – I’m very excited to launch everything as quickly as possible because I feel like we’re just gonna look so different and stand out in a really good way. The brand is so fun I’m confident it’ll help us grow and expand beyond where we’ve been. Thus far, most of our customers only buy from us once, but hopefully having a memorable brand will bring more repeat customers.

Last thoughts?
I wanted to add that it felt like the whole thing was very organized, we knew what to expect, each step of the way, I’m so excited to have the brand guide and to be able to use all our assets in such a seamless way. It also makes me think that there’s probably a LOT of design teams that don’t do it this way, and it just makes me feel so grateful to have made the choice to work with you – and we’ll definitely continue working with your team on future projects! Thank you!
